Resistance to high temperatures and abrasion

Spectrum PC/PTFE is an advanced polycarbonate (PC) based composite filament with the addition of PTFE, known as Teflon. High demand and limited availability of additive manufacturing materials with very good mechanical properties, with particular emphasis on high abrasion resistance, have led to efforts aimed at combining the excellent properties of PC and PTFE. Polycarbonate provides high mechanical resistance and PTFE complements the other properties by reducing wear and friction.

The applied modifications provide improved thermal stability of the printed parts, increased electrical insulation and higher chemical and water resistance. Due to their properties, Spectrum PC/PTFE filaments are the material of choice for a wide range of industrial applications. Materials printed using PC/PTFE filament can be machined to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. The use of this type of material makes it possible to produce parts with relatively complex geometries while maintaining relatively high dimensional accuracy.

In order to achieve the very attractive properties of Spectrum PC/PTFE, as far as technical aspects are concerned, you must follow the basic rules for storing such materials (in a dry and dark place with humidity below 15%). To obtain the best possible parameters of the printed object, it is recommended to dry the material before handling.

Tip: It is recommended to print in a heated chamber.
