PolyTerra™ Edition-R is a PLA filament that contains 30% recycled PLA. This PLA enhances the sustainability of an already environmentally friendly material without compromising print quality or print characteristics. With a matte black surface finish, this recycled PLA filament is the ideal filament for everyday applications.

What is post-industrial recycled PLA?

Post-industrial recycled PLA refers to a type of recycled polylactic acid (PLA) that is derived from industrial waste generated during the manufacturing process of PLA-based products. Instead of using new raw materials, post-industrial recycled PLA is produced by collecting and reprocessing excess PLA materials, off-cuts or defective PLA products that would otherwise be discarded as waste.

The recycling process involves sorting, cleaning and processing the collected PLA waste to remove any impurities, then transforming it into new PLA pellets or filaments that can be used to manufacture new PLA-based products. By using recycled PLA after industrialization, companies can reduce their environmental impact by minimizing waste and consumption of new resources. This contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to production and product development.

Settings for printing and drying?

• Printing temperature: 190˚C – 230˚C
• Bed temperature: 25˚C – 60˚C
• Print speed: 30 mm/s – 70 mm/s
• Fan: on

Direct drive:

• Retraction distance: 1 mm
• Retraction speed: 20 mm/s
• Direct drive:
• Retraction distance: 3 mm
• Retraction speed: 40 mm/s

Drying settings: 55˚C for 6 hours
(Only if the material has absorbed moisture)

PLA is slightly more abrasive than regular PLA.
