PEI 9085 – Black – Fiberlogy
Description
PEI 9085 (made from ULTEMTM 9085 resin) is a material of exceptional strength. It is used daily in the most demanding sectors, such as aviation, rail and automotive. Thanks to its unique properties, such as non-flammability (UL 94 V0) and non-toxicity, it is valued and approved by aircraft manufacturers (FAR 25.853) and the railway industry (EN 45545). Components made from ULTEMTM resin are effective substitutes for metal components, combining the durability of steel and the lightness of aluminum. This makes it possible to reduce the time and costs associated with developing and manufacturing fully functional parts.
PEI 9085 is distinguished by its high resistance to abrasion, elevated temperature up to 180°C, solvents and UV radiation. All this makes it an excellent choice for applications designed to operate in extreme conditions. In addition, it is characterized by high dielectric strength and good thermal conductivity. Compared to other materials such as PEEK and PEKK, PEI 9085 exhibits slightly lower strength, stability and creep resistance.
3D printing with PEI 9085 is only possible when using printers adapted for processing high temperature materials (e.g. PEEK, PEKK, PEI, etc.). In order to obtain high quality prints, it is necessary to use a heating chamber that ensures even heat distribution.
