What you need to know before use

Before automatic leveling, it is necessary to repeatedly wipe the nozzle in the special bed wiping area to completely remove the residual material in the nozzle tip( this is done automatically).

The coating in the specially designed nozzle clearance area will gradually wear away over time. This is normal and does not affect print quality or nozzle life, so there is no need to worry about quality issues.

Bambu’s double-sided textured PEI plate is a flexible magnetic pad with a sprayed double-sided PEI coating. During printing, the plate will provide excellent adhesion and easy removal of the print after cooling.

Recommended settings

Please note that other slider settings may need to be adjusted depending on the printed pattern and filament requirements.

Surface coating

Bambu’s double-sided textured PEI pad uses a PEI coating to provide a tactile matte surface to the areas of the model that touch the build plate.

Benefits ✅

• Double-sided textured PEI for longer surface life
• In most cases, no adhesive is needed for plain threads.
• Nice textured finish on the prints
• Excellent adhesion and easy seal removal

Disadvantages ❌

• The adhesive is still recommended for certain filaments and printing conditions
• Cannot be used without heating the printing surface
• LIDAR will have trouble reading the print surface correctly and calibration may be affected

Installation steps

Step 1: Align the plate with the fixed points on the platform, with the plate name facing you.

Step 2: Lower the plate and secure it to the magnetic platform

Considerations

• When printing filament with heat deflection temperature below 60℃ (such as PLA, PVA, TPU), the hot bed temperature is set above 45℃, and it is recommended to open the front glass door and remove the top glass cover plate to avoid heat creep, which may cause the material to soften, leading to abnormal extrusion or clogging
• Automatic calibration for flow rate is not recommended as the LIDAR will have problems reading the seal surface correctly and calibration may be affected.
• Regularly clean the print surface with soap and hot water to remove any dust or grease residue that may cause poor adhesion.
• Do not clean textured PEI with acetone as it can damage the PEI surface
• Always wait a few minutes before removing printed models to let them cool and remove them easily
