PLA Glow in the Dark Yellow 1000g Panchroma
Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is a special-effect PLA material designed to print fun and colorful glow-in-the-dark 3D patterns that look impressive both day and night.
Unlike standard glow-in-the-dark PLA filaments, which have color only when lit, Luminous PLA combines saturated daylight color with dust particles that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy.
Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is ideal for creating impressive patterns – whether exposed to daylight or in a dark environment.
Features
- Day and Night – Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is a colorful series that contains dust particles that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy.
This luminous filament is an excellent choice for striking patterns that offer color in both daylight and at night.
For maximum glow-in-the-dark effect, simply print the pattern and expose it to sunlight or UV light for about 30 minutes.
Ideal for glow sticks, figurines, party decorations, Halloween decorations, Christmas ornaments or gifts for children. - Jam-Free™ Technology – Polymaker incorporates Jam-Free™ technology into Panchroma™ Luminous PLA to improve the thermal stability of filament with softening temperatures above 100°C.
This results in excellent print quality without the risk of nozzle clogging caused by heat creep[1]. - Compatibility first – Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is compatible with a wide range of 3D printers and works well with most standard printing surfaces without the need for a heated plate.
A heated plate at 40-60°C can provide better results (max 60°C). - Uncompromising Quality – Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is manufactured from high quality raw materials, including Ingeo® from NatureWorks.
NatureWorks is a leading US-based global supplier of biopolymers with a portfolio of high quality PLA materials made from rapidly renewable plant resources.
The combination of Polymaker’s innovative R&D technologies, advanced compounding and extrusion systems with Ingeo® resins ensures a reliable 3D printable filament for beautiful and precise patterns.
[1] Heat creep is the process of uneven heat distribution in the hotend, common in all-metal hotend designs.
When the heat reaches the cold end, the PLA filament can prematurely soften and expand, leading to blockage.
Jam-Free™ technology increases the heat resistance of the filament itself (not the printed part) up to 100°C, preventing premature softening in the cold end zone while allowing rapid melting in the hot end zone.
Print settings
| Nozzle temperature | 190°C – 230°C Abrasion resistant nozzle required. |
| Temperature of the working plate | 25°C – 60°C |
| Surface material | Works well with most surfaces such as glass, blue tape, BuildTak®, etc. |
| Surface treatment | Ecofixy adhesive can be used to improve adhesion. |
| Cooling fan | ON. |
| Print speed | 40 mm/s – 60 mm/s |
| Recommended maintenance material | Single extruder: Self-supporting Double extruder: PolyDissolve™ S1 (dissolves in water) PolySupport™ (easily separable support material) |
Note: The above conditions are based on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Print conditions are not standardized and may vary by printer model, environment and settings. Additional settings may be required for high speed 3D printing.
Specification
| Net weight | 1 kg |
| Material type | Luminous PLA (glow in the dark) |
| Density | 1.17 g/cm³ (at 21.5°C) |
Compatibility
Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is designed for excellent compatibility with a wide range of 3D printers. Due to the abrasive particles, the use of an abrasion resistant nozzle is recommended.
Due to the many different models of 3D printers on the market, we cannot guarantee compatibility with every model. Adjustments to the slicer settings are required to get the most out of the material.
STORAGE AND DRYING
All plastics are hygroscopic and absorb moisture from the air, which can affect the quality and strength of the print. Panchroma™ PLA filaments are factory dried and packaged in a vacuum bag with desiccant.
When not in use, the filament should be stored away from sunlight and in the sealed original packaging.
Although filament can be dried, frequent drying accelerates aging and can make it more brittle. For long-term storage, we recommend a sealed container with desiccant at 10-20% relative humidity.
With crackling sounds or uneven surface during printing, the filament has probably absorbed moisture. Can be dried at 55°C for up to 6 hours (depending on oven accuracy).
Applications
Panchroma™ Luminous PLA is a special-effect PLA material designed to print colorful, fun and luminous 3D patterns that look impressive both day and night. Luminous and Glow-in-the-dark PLA materials offer similar printer compatibility, but require extra care when printing – such as the use of a hardened steel nozzle to prevent excessive wear.
Panchroma™ Luminous PLA has been used for a wide range of fun and creative projects including:
- Glow in the dark toys
- Gifts for children
- Lightsabers and glow sticks
- Party, Halloween and Christmas decorations
- Glow in the dark fashion and festival accessories
- Innovative illuminated products for your industry
Print the model and expose it to sunlight or UV light for about 30 minutes to get the maximum glow-in-the-dark effect. Panchroma™ Luminous PLA has similar properties to Panchroma™ PLA, making it a suitable choice for functional applications that do not require high heat resistance or high impact resistance.
