Tips for use

1. Changes in machine characteristics
Over time, as a result of the way of operation and the influence of the environment, the characteristics of the machine inevitably change. This is manifested by:

  • fluctuations in ambient temperature
  • micro-deformations in the structure due to vibration or displacement
  • stress relaxation in hull materials

As a result, the calibration efficiency gradually decreases. The rate of this deterioration is directly related to the severity of the medium and the intensity of use. For applications requiring high precision, we recommend a two-week calibration cycle to maintain measurement accuracy.

2. Limitations of Use
Bambu Lab Vision Encoder is to be used for motion accuracy calibration only and should not be used as a printing platform. After calibration is complete, please remove and store the Vision Encoder properly.

3. Preparation before calibration with Bambu Lab Vision Encoder

  • Remove the clear protective film from the surface of the Vision Encoder before use.
  • Make sure the print head camera is working properly and there are no HMS errors (e.g. dirty lens).
  • Clean the heating bed of any debris.
  • Make sure the Vision Encoder surface is clean and all grid patterns are clearly visible.
  • Before calibration, allow the heating bed to cool to room temperature. Avoid placing the Vision Encoder on a hot bed to prevent errors caused by thermal expansion.
