🚫 What’s more, we are seeing cases where consumers are using calcium chloride dehumidifiers that release moisture when saturated. This can cause a short circuit and irreversible damage to the AMS 2 Pro.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

1.What is the difference between the two exhaust ports on the back of the machine?

The hole in the back of the top cover is designed specifically for TPU threads. Due to the softness of the TPU filament, it is easily damaged when using the auto feed feature of the AMS 2 Pro. When using TPU, insert it into the AMS HT and make sure the material tray rotates in the correct direction. Insert the material tube into the TPU outlet port and manually push the filament through the PTFE tube until it is fully loaded into the extruder.

Note: When using TPU, the AMS HT cannot use the automatic feed and return function, but can be used as a drying box to prevent moisture in the material.

 

2.Can AMS HT be used with X1 and P1 series printers?

AMS HT compatibility with the X1 and P1 printers will be added via an OTA update by the end of April.

If you are connecting only one AMS HT to an X or P series printer, the filament buffer must be purchased separately. If you are connecting multiple AMS HT devices, we recommend that you purchase the AMS Hub.

AMS HT compatibility with A1 and A1 mini printers will be added via an OTA update in Q3 2025.

 

3.Can I print and dry at the same time?

Printing while drying is not yet supported, including any AMS that are associated with the current print job (e.g., AMS set for automatic reloading). However, you can dry filament in AMSs that are not assigned to the current print job.

 

4.How many AMS HT devices can be connected to the X1 and P1 series?

The X1 and P1 series printers support up to 4 AMS HT connections simultaneously.

 

5.Can AMS HT be connected directly to the drying printer?

The H2D and X/P/A series printers are connected to the AMS HT and use the drying function. Each AMS HT requires an external 220 V power supply for drying No power extraction from the printer is supported for drying (the power adapter is included in the product packaging beforehand).

 

6.Does it support self-drying without connecting to the printer?

When using the AMS HT drying feature, the AMS HT must be connected to the printer via a 6-pin bus cable to ensure that the printer is powered on and set to filament drying mode.

AMS HT cannot perform stand-alone drying without connection to the printer.
