The lightweight all-metal design weighing 155 g and the Nema 14 stepper motor gives the extruder the perfect balance between rigidity and weight. The aluminium frame improves heat dissipation of the Nema 14 stepper motor.
Optimised RNC dual drive gears

The APUS extruder has a gear ratio of 6.3/1, and the gears have the appropriate number of teeth for optimum gear construction. The teeth of the Dual Drive gear system are optimized for perfect gripping of all filament types and are RNC hardened. This hardening process increases wear resistance and gives the Dual Drive gears a polished surface. The tightly tapered filament path makes the extruder more reactive and as such ensures that the extrusion process is as consistent as possible. Using the hand wheel, the user can easily load and unload the filament without having to rely on loading and unloading macros in Gcode.
Universal mounting system for the hot module

In the modern era of 3D printing, high-speed printing is becoming increasingly important. That’s why the APUS extruder is designed in such a way that the center of mass is as close to the mounting system as possible, even when installed hotend. This ensures that the torque acting on the mounting system is small. The extruder adopts the “three-screw system”: two screws to remove the Hotend and one screw to loosen the Idler. In this way, the user has full access to the filament path. This system also allows a convenient “quick change” of the hotends. This “quick change system” can be printed on a 3D printer and as such can be redesigned to fit any type of Hotend.
