PETG Carbon Filament – Black – Spectrum
Spectrum PET-G Carbon is a modified PET-G based filament blended with Carbon fibers that contributes significantly higher stiffness, rigidity and tensile strength while maintaining low shrinkage and very good adhesion to build platforms.
Improved hardness and rigidity
Spectrum PET-G Carbon is a modified PET-G based filament blended with carbon fibers that contributes significantly higher stiffness, rigidity and tensile strength while maintaining the low shrinkage and very good adhesion to build platforms characteristic of pure PET-G. The addition of 10 % carbon fibre enables matt surfaces to be produced on printed articles, which significantly improves the aesthetic properties of the printed articles.
Tip: Due to the substantial shredded carbon content, it is recommended to use nozzles with a diameter exceeding the standard value of 0.4 mm. The presence of carbon fibre can also cause wear to the brass nozzle, therefore the use of stainless steel nozzles is recommended for continuous application of Spectrum PET-G Carbon.
Key Features:
- improved hardness and toughness compared to pure PET-G
- higher plasticization temperature compared to pure PET-G
- improved wear resistance
- VICAT 80°C
- much higher pressure resistance compared to pure PET-G
- good mechanical properties
- high aesthetic, matt surface quality
- no shrinkage after cooling
Applications:
- products to be very rigid and hard while maintaining dimensional accuracy
- manufacture of spacer components subjected to static compressive loads
- conceptual and demonstration prototyping of designed finished and semi-finished products
- decorative parts (aesthetic properties)
- external structural components that highlight the product
- Prototyping
Packaging
The fiber is wound on a clean, transparent spool. Each spool contains information on the material type, diameter and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum packed with a moisture absorber. All product is packaged in Spectrum Filaments’ original, folded packaging.
BALL CHECK – the most precise quality control system on the market
Filaments for 3D printers are produced by the free extrusion method, which is one of the most difficult extrusion processing techniques due to the particularly large influence of process parameters on product dimensions and material homogenization.
During production, every 1 mm of Spectrum filament is continuously measured along two axes with an accuracy of ±0.8 µm, allowing a high quality end product to be produced. As a testament to this, Spectrum Filaments has introduced, as one of the few manufacturers in the world, the ability to submit online, individually for each spool produced:
- the diameter stroke along the entire length of the reel,
- medium diameter,
- Ovality,
- standard deviation.
