Induction Hotend – H2C – 0.4mm Hardened Steel – Bambu Lab
Multi-material printing with less waste
The Vortek system uses up to six interchangeable hosts with
induction heating to achieve true multi-material printing
with significantly less purge waste compared to single nozzle systems.
The hotend change mechanism eliminates the need for purge flushing
when changing filaments (under 7 filaments for H2C ),
which saves both material and time.

Fast and precise induction heating
The Vortek induction hotend heats the nozzle to operating temperature
extremely quickly – in approximately 8 seconds (PLA).
This instant response shortens color change transitions
and further reduces the amount of purge waste.
Built-in protections against overheating, overvoltage,
Short circuit and open circuit
ensure reliable and stable operation
in continuous multi-material production processes.
Reliable contactless connection
Instead of metal pins with physical contact – which over time can
oxidize and wear out – the Vortek
system uses a non-contact high frequency interface
to transmit power and signals.
This ensures a stable and long-lasting connection,
precise temperature control
and synchronized operation of the hosts,
even in intensive multi-material applications.

Monitoring of radiator overheating
Two temperature sensors monitor in real time
the nozzle temperature and
temperature of the heat sink.
This allows constant control over the thermal state of the
host during printing.
When the safe temperature limits of the radiator are exceeded,
the system automatically increases cooling,
to prevent heat creep
and reduce the risk of blockage.

Intelligent management of multiple hosts
Each Vortek host stores locally the information about the used
filament, which ensures proper
material matching and prevents loading errors.
When printing with more than seven filament types,
the system intelligently optimizes the distribution of hosts,
to minimize purge waste
and increase overall process efficiency.
