Galaxy Surface

Galaxy Surface transfers a bright galactic rainbow effect onto the first layer of the print, which shimmers and changes colour depending on the angle. Best results are achieved with silk or gloss filaments to make the most of the motif transfer.

Carbon fibre surface

Carbon fiber has a very light texture, similar to real carbon fiber. The motif is transferred onto the first layer of the 3D printed model, creating a 3D effect with a distinctive texture, especially when used with grey coloured filament.

Stellar surface

The star surface transfers a kaleidoscopic rainbow effect onto the first layer of the print, which shimmers and changes colour depending on the angle. Best results are achieved with silk or lustre threads to take advantage of the transfer motif.

Diamond surface

The diamond surface imprints a diamond motif on the first layer with a combination of shiny and matte shapes applied to a smooth surface. Best used with silk or gloss filaments to take advantage of the transfer of the motif.

How to install the 3D effect backup sheet

TIPS: The STL file of the “Fixing Tool” shown in the video can be downloaded from here!

Note

1. For best results, we recommend applying the 3D effect back-up sheet only to the official steel plate from Bambu Lab.

2. Bambu Engineering Plate (other side of Bambu Cool Plate/High Temp Plate) can also be used to apply Bambu 3D Effect Sheets. If you plan to apply a replacement 3D Effect Sheet over an existing plate, make sure you have removed the previous sheet and cleaned off any adhesive residue completely before installing the replacement 3D Effect Sheet. Make sure the surface is dry and clean before application.

3. Please set the plate type to Smooth PEI/High Temp Plate and carefully follow the recommended settings for the heating platform when using the Bambu 3D Effect Plate.

4. 3D effect patterns require a clean surface to remain visible. Grease can cause patterns to fade. It is very important to keep the surface clean. We recommend using warm water and cleaner and avoid touching the surface.

Considerations

1. Due to reflections, the LIDAR calibration will not work as expected when using Effect Sheets. We recommend skipping the LIDAR calibration or calibrating with a plain plate.

2. 3D Effect Spare Sheets are considered consumables. To extend the life of the transfer textures, try placing the print objects in different locations on the sheet.

3. Do not apply adhesive to the surface of the sheet.

4. Be careful when using a scraper to remove impressions so as not to damage the surface of the sheet.

Recommended settings

1. We recommend using PLA and TPU filament for printing. Please note that you may need to adjust other slider settings depending on the printed pattern and filament requirements. Please select Smooth PEI Plate/High Temp Plate for Plate Type in Bambu Studio.
