ABS reinforced with aramid fibres
Spectrum ABS Kevlar is an ABS-based structural composite filament with the addition of aramid fibers known as Kevlar. The search for properties superior to those offered by standard ABS, for durability and for increased tensile strength, has given rise to actions aimed at combining the very good properties of ABS with aramid fibres.
The modifications applied resulted in reduced shrinkage, excellent adhesion to the work platforms and reduced material density, meaning the printed parts are slightly lighter than their counterparts made with standard ABS. The excellent dimensional stability enables 3D printing of objects with precise dimensions, which is particularly important for projects consisting of multiple parts.
