PolyLite PLA – Glowing (White-Blue) – PolyMaker
Features
Glow in the dark – PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA contains powders that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy. This orange glow in the dark filament has the best light effect in the entire range of Polymakers PolyLite™ Glow PLA. Simply print your design and expose it to sunlight or UV light for about 30 minutes to get the best glow in the dark effect; ideal for printing glow sticks, figurines, party decorations, Halloween decorations, Christmas ornaments or gifts for children.
Jam-Free™ Technology – Polymaker has incorporated its Jam-Free™ technology into PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA to improve filament thermal stability with a softening temperature in excess of 100°C, resulting in excellent print quality with zero risk of nozzle clogging caused by thermal creep [1].
Compatibility in mind – PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA is compatible with a wide range of 3D printers and works well with common printing surfaces without the need for bed heating. A heated bed with a temperature of 40 – 60°C may provide better results (maximum 60°C).
Uncompromising quality – PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA filament is made from the highest quality ingredients, including Ingeo® from Natureworks. Natureworks is a leading US-based global supplier of biopolymers with a portfolio of high-quality PLA feedstocks made from rapidly renewable plant resources. Combining Polymakers’ innovative R&D technologies, blending and extrusion systems with Natureworks’ Ingeo® resins yields a reliable 3D printing filament that prints beautiful and accurate models.
[1] Thermal creep is the process of uneven distribution of heat across a hot end, which is a common example in all metal hot end structures. Once the heat is spread to the cold end, the PLA filament softens prematurely at the cold end and expands, causing a jam. Polymakers’ Jam-Free™ technology increases the heat resistance of the filament itself (not the printed part) up to 100˚C, which prevents the filament from softening prematurely at the cold end and can still melt quickly once it enters the heating zone.
Applications
PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA is a special effect PLA material designed for printing fun and glowing 3D prints. Glow-in-the-dark PLA materials offer similar printer compatibility but require additional printing considerations, such as using a hardened steel nozzle to prevent excessive printer wear.
This PolyLite™ glow in the dark PLA filament has been used to print a wide range of fun and exciting projects including:
- glow-in-the-dark toys.
- Gifts for children.
- Glowing swords and glowing sticks.
- Decorations for parties, Halloween and Christmas.
- Glow in the dark fashion and festival wear.
- Innovative glow-in-the-dark products for your industry.
Print your model and expose it to sunlight or UV light for about 30 minutes to get the best glow-in-the-dark effect. PolyLite™ Glow in the dark PLA exhibits similar properties to PolyLite™ PLA, making it a good choice for functional applications that do not require high heat resistance or high impact resistance.
